Haadsma Celebrates Albion’s Trail Town Designation
ALBION — The National Country Trail Association (NCTA) recently announced that the city of Albion would be designated as a Trail Town in recognition of local efforts to promote trails and serve users of the North Country National Scenic Trail. The trail spans 4,600 contiguous miles from New York to North Dakota and brings thousands of visitors from across the country to some of the most scenic cities along its path. State Rep. Jim Haadsma (D-Battle Creek) celebrated the NCTA announcement and what it will mean for the city’s future.
“Albion is home to some of the most beautiful trails in our state and I am thrilled that the city was awarded this well-deserved designation,” said Haadsma. “Not only is this a testament to the community’s commitment to preserving our scenic environment, but also highlights the city’s growing revitalization. I’m confident that this new honor will inspire visitors to appreciate everything Albion has to offer as a stop on this historic national trail.”
The NCTA’s mission is to unite individuals, affiliated trail groups, local chapters, business partners and others linked in support of building and maintaining the North Country National Scenic Trail and telling its story.
